    TagList on other tables

    Hello,

I have created a TagList in my Customer field so I can directly tag customers. I followed the steps set out in this post:
    https://www.method.me/cs/forums/t/6756.aspx

It sort of works, except that wherever it displays the tags it just displays [object Object] instead. I will attach a few screens.

I am not quite sure how method handles that tag list, it seems to somehow know that it's a tag list because i didnt set up any formatting for it yet it's partially formatted, so I am guessing I have just missed a step.

    tag grid

    tag options

    Hey,

Looking into "[Object object]" it's sounds like an issue converting the array of Tags onto the screen.

Which would make me believe it is an issue with formatting. If you would like to private message me the tag field on your spreadsheet, I can take a further look. But as your stated if they have only been partially formatted this may be the root cause.

Happy to message you that, but I don't know exactly what you mean by Tag Field on my spreadsheet. In this instance I am not importing anything from a spreadsheet, I just entering it directly into Method.

    Hey,

What we can take a look at is how it's being saved onto the Table. From your original post you created a TagList field on your Customer Table, we can export that column for the Table and take a look at how it looks.

    Re: TagList on other tables

I'm reposting here becuase i am still having an issue with this and am hoping someone can help or that someone else has ran into this in some way...

I have deleted everywhere i used the new TagList, I have deleted the field from the Customer table.

I have recreated the field and put it back into add new customer screen for testing.

Two odds things are now happening.

    1. I am seeing a tag in the list...which should not really be possible since it is a new field.

    2. when i click edit tags i still see the [object Object] call in the choose table selector input. Somewhere between the server and the front end the object isnt be serialized or parsed right maybe? It looks that way in the response from the GET route if that helps at all. I can see the contact table that has a TagList in it properly.

Any help on getting this up and running would be appreciated.

    Hi Sixtel,

Sorry for the late response here, Im happy to help out!

Regarding your latest post, Ive tried adding the TagList field to the Customer table as you did, and everything appeared to be displaying as intended

Im definitely seeing what you are describing in your account however ( [object Object] listed on the Choose table dropdown) Unfortunately I dont have a concrete answer as to why this is happening for you, and it will take some more investigation. Im going to open a ticket with our development team to help us out, and will update the post when we have an update.
