    Exporting CSV from Report Designer

    I’m not sure if you can assist me with this, but I’m trying to create an Active/Inactive Estimate Report in Method’s Report Designer that I can export a csv. file. It seems to be working fine, but it only puts the first 100 records on the csv. file. I should have over 1,000 records on it. Is there something special I need to do?

    Hi JGAnderson,

    Certainly happy to help out! There arent any hard limits imposed on the Generate Report actionso you should theoretically be able to generate as many records in your Report as your Filters will return. Are you getting exactly 100 Records? There is an option on the Generate Report Action called 'Filter Safegard' which will return the first x amount of records;

    First up, I would check your Generate Report action to ensure you havent set the filter to only return the first 100 records.

    If this is not the case, let me know and we can explore other possible solutions. We might need to try exporting the data with the same filters directly using the Import/Export Tool and seeing if it returns the same results.

    Is it possible to do a report on active/inactive estimates using the Import/Export Tool? If so, I'd like to try this. I'm not looking to create a fancy report, I just want to be able to get data in a csv format. Thanks Ben!

    Hi JGAnderson

    Its definitely possible to use a filter with the Import Export tool. After Selecting the Table to Export in Steps 1 and 2 of the Import Export Tool, Step 3 allows you the option of selecting which fields you want to include, and also gives you the option of using an Advanced Filter. In the Advanced Filter, youll want to check the Filter with Script checkbox, and type in IsActive = 'False' for inactive Estimates, or IsActive = 'True' for Active ones.

    Another point of note, if you are just using the Preview option within the Report Designer, the Preview will always only return the first 100 records (see the last Yellow Tip Bubble in https://www.methodintegration.com/method/kb.aspx?folder=MethodCRM&article=Creating-a-new-report&id=405 ). This doesnt necesarily mean that the same report will only generate these results once generated from within your Method Account itself.

    Hopefully this Helps.
