cannot update "Customer" field of table BillLineItem

    cannot update "Customer" field of table BillLineItem

    Hi,

    When create BillLineItem, it is ok to set "Customer" field. However, seems not able to update this "Customer" field by "Update Table field" action later. Is there anything I need to do to make it editable?

    Hi Alex,

    You should be able to update the Customer on the LineItems if they already exist without any extra stepsWould you be able to take a screenshot of your actions? or perhaps describe how the process works for your actions?

    Are you using the Update Fields in table action before the Item has been added to the Bill? Or is this updating existing, saved BillLineItems?

    Hi Ben,

    Thanks for help. I have the screen capture of actions:

    Those BillLineItem are all saved, and synced to QBs already. I also tried to update "Customer" with a hard-code customer name, the system has no warning/error, however, the field are not modified.

    By the way, "Customer" is a dropdown, what if I want to clear it as NULL (or empty) what value should I set? I'm asking is because if I set this value as blank, QBs will assign it a value we want after synchronization. Thanks again!

    Hi Alex,

    Iv just tested building a simple version of this on my own account, using an Dropdown not attached to the Screen containing a Customer List, And a Button containing the following actions


    The Customer Field updated successfully for me in Both Method and QuickBooks. Perhaps there is something in your Loop through Table Action that might point us in the right direction. Would you be able to take a quick screenshot of that one too?

    Hi Alex,

    From the looks of this Loop, it appears you are trying to Add a Vendor type entity into the Customer field of the BillLineItem - This is not possible. Its strange you are not recieving an error message, as I tried to do the same thing and was consistently given an action sequence error when trying to insert the Bill.Vendor into the BillLineItem.Customer field.

    Regarding clearing the Customer Value - Im going to have to do some more investigation here. I was able to clear out the value through actions, but they would always repopulate after a Sync to QuickBooks.

    Hi Ben,

    The screen shot you saw actually gives me error because I use vendor name for customer field, but that is my test to make sure the value is taken by actions. In my real code, I use valid vendor name for it.

    Thanks for help, I'll wait for your result regarding how to set dropdown field to empty.

    Good Morning Alex,

    After some further testing, it looks like there is a bug with the Removing of data from the Customer Field on BillLine's. Ive brought this one up with our development team, and Ill report back once we have a solution for you Alex.
