    Method Integration Engine Issue

Starting this past Friday (12/12/08) the Method Integration Engine started logging errors:

Error: The remote server returned an error: (407) Proxy Authentication Required.

There was a firewall change on ISA 2004 in the form of a Web Publishing Rule for OMA. That rule has since been removed, and no longer needed, but this error still exists. Is there a specific port or rule that needs to be created for the Method engine to go out? Everything else is working on the network (i.e. Web, VPN, RDP, OWA, FTP).

Any insight would be greatly apprciated.

    Hi there!

It seems that all was working well until the change to your firewall took place.  I would say that you try and remove the firewall completely to see if that is the true issue.  If you are blocking outbound connections, you'll need to make sure that you enable outbound connections otherwise the Method engine won’t be able to reach the server.

Let me know what happens when you remove the firewall completely.

    Regards,
