    Estimate Form Questions

    Hi, I'm new to Method and need to make some changes to the estimate form.

    1. I would like to have Quote instead of Estimate, can I change this and how?

    2. It it possible to have Method auto generate estimate number starting at 1001?

    3.  ** How do I get the Item number to show on the printed version of the estimate form?  This is crucial.

    4. I would also like to have Line Item number 1, 2, 3, 4... for easy reference with customers, can I add this?

    5. I never want the small (non) to show up next to the dollar amount on the printed forms.  How do I remove this from all estimates?

    6. Final unrelated question, how do I prevent customer from editing thier profile if they log in.  This is a dangerous feature......

    Hi rglenn,

    Welcome to Method!

    1. If you're talking about the label/text that shows up on the screen then yes. This can easily be changed by creating a copy of the QuickBooks_Estimate screen and editing the caption in that label object. If this is not what you're referring to then please expand on your original question.

    2. This can be done by enabling the Assign Ref Numbers in Method? option: Go to the QuickBooks tab > Synchronize > scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click the Assign Ref Numbers in Method? checkbox. However, before you start creating Estimates in Methd, create one in QuickBooks then edit the Estimate number, e.g. change it to 1000. Now when you go back to Method and create an Estimate it will start at 1001 and move forward from there.

    3. What do you mean by item number? Are you talking about the order in which items appear on the line item grid? If so then this is related to question 4.

    4. Yes this can be done through customization, you'll need to edit the invoice screen as well as the invoice template.

    5. Yes this can also be done by editing the invoice template through the Report Designer.

    6. Yes you can create a copy of the ContactsPortal_Home screen and edit it, e.g. remove the Edit Profile button. You can then associate your customized screen to show up in the Portal when users login.
