    Creating Jobs for Customers

I created a (parent) customer called "ABC" (Name=ABC, Contact=Test, FullName=ABC, ParentFullName is blank:

    I created 2 subaccounts:

    1. ABC: Name=ABC, Contact=ABC, Subaccount JobType=Subaccount desc:Main Account, FullName=ABC:ABC, ParentFullName=ABC
    2. Mike: Name=Mike, Contact=Mike, Subaccount JobType=Subaccount desc:Staff, FullName=ABC:Mike, ParentFullName=ABC
The parent customer shows up in QuickBooks, but the jobs (ie. subaccounts) do not. In the Resolve Conflicts tab in Method I get the message "QuickBooks returned an error when adding/modifying a accEntity record. The error was: There was an error when saving a Customers list, element "MIKE". QuickBooks error message: This customer already has job information. To add a new job, the customer's current job information must be moved into its own job. I get a similar message in QuickBooks when I try to create jobs/subaccounts from there.
However, an export of the Method Customers table contains all 3 rows (the parent entry plus the two subaccount entries) and everything seems to be OK.
I just want to be able to create subaccounts/jobs in Method. What's going on?
    Thanks

Also: I have been able to successfully add job types to existing customers. My test (ABC) was actually converted from a test lead.

Something must be missing or awry in the Customer (parent) account, but I can't seem to figure out what. All relevant fields appear to be there.

Finally, I created sales orders for the subaccounts I created and I got the following message: "The Invoice could not be added for RecordID '20594', since the customer does not yet exist in QuickBooks or is a different entity type than 'Customer', or has not yet been posted to QuickBooks."

    Answer

    Hi Mike,

I haven't been able to replicate this type of behaviour, I'm able to associate the Jobs to the Parent during the creation process of the Job. Just to clarify, are you trying to create the new customers and then associate it as a Job after it's created, or are you associating it with the Parent customer during the Job's creation process?

If you're experiencing this in QuickBooks as well then there is already a Job named 'MIKE' associated with the parent customer 'ABC'.

I would suggest you export your Entity table from Method to look for any duplicates, missing links/associations, and important fields that are not holding the correct values (i.e. ParentFullName). Since you're using a heavily customized screen, you should check the actions on your Save button to see how data is being saved to the table. If the Insert Records into Table or Update Field in Table actions are being used, ensure that the Send to Desktop action is used as well somewhere along the end of the action list.
