In the inventoty item table I have a field "purchsed cost" and "quantity on hand", is there a field that ill give me the total amount for each item depending how many I have on hand o do I have to use actions to get that number. If this is the case, will you point me in the right direction.

That is always a challening question. Asssume you are going after Inventory Cost.  You could take the last purchased cost times Qty on Hand thru Retreive Value from table commands and some math calculation. What cost you want to use for Qty On Hand is the main question, since cost is a single event and Qty on Hand is an accumulation of events. Otherwise use the Inventory Vavluation Report from QB.
