I'm new to eCC and have been trying to customize the "edit customer" screen for over a week with little success.

There just doesn't seem to be any relation between the customizing screen and the resulting interfacce screen. Fields that I make 2 columns wide in the layout editor end-up only 1/2 inch wide on the actual screen.

I've scoured the documentation, tutorials and webinars but cannot find any DETAILED instructions on screen customization (including all the form settings, tab settings, section settings, etc.)

Can somebody please send me in the right direction?
