    Transaction App Ribbon

I have a customer app and I just created a transaction app. If i try to setup an app ribbon linking the transaction app to the customer app I get an error when trying to view a customer record. The only thing i can see that is different about the transaction table and the other apps I have successfully linked to the customer app is that the transaction table has an Entity field where the other have a customer field. Is that most likely what is causing the problem here? Any way to get it to work?

    Hi Matt,

Can you describe the properties of your transaction app ribbon item? I’m trying to replicate this on my test account, but it would appear the connection would need to be made between Transaction.Entity and Entity.FullName, but Entity.FullName is not available to select. If I make the connection using Transaction.Entity and Entity.Customer and add the app ribbon, I receive an error when the screen loads.

    Hi Audisho,

After looking more I don't think the Entity field is the issue. I have a work order app that links the Entity field in the activity table to the Customer Record ID and works fine, trying the exact same setup for the transaction app throws the error when the Customer screen loads. I sent you screen shots of the setup.

    Hi Matt,

I’m going to have to ask around on this one. The Transaction table isn’t a standard table and is generated using some backend voodoo. It does not appear to contain an Entity_RecordID field and this may be why your connection doesn’t work. I’ll post back as soon as I have some more information.

    Hi Matt,

I wasn’t able to find any further details regarding why this app ribbon item doesn’t work. It was recommended to me that I create a ticket so that is what I have done. Hopefully our development team can correct this or at the very least, provide me with some further detail as to why this doesn’t work. I’ll keep you posted on any updates that I receive via this thread.

    Thanks for your patience.
