My two cents.
I think this feature is broadly beneficial and very consistent with good development strategy for Method.
QB is great for accounting functions, and in many cases it would be the only tool anyone would want to use. But, for order entry, production planning, invoicing and shipping it has a rather limited feature set. A ...

Ahhh....yes, so obvious now, I assumed it wouldn't be at the end of the Action sequence and never looked that far down. Thanks again wise one, you know what they say about assumptions......and that Occam's razor theory.

Hey pdirect,
Method does keep the ref numbers in sync, or rather Method maintains an understanding of the maximum number already used in QB before adding a new number to initialize the increment and to avoid conflicts. Paul has mentioned in his blog that when using this configuration of Method assigning the numbers it is best to be making ...

Michael,
I'm not sure what Button or Go To Tab Link you're talking about.
When converting an Estimate to a Sales Order, we are using the More Actions button on the Estimate mostly unchanged from Full Method product which then gives the option to use a pre-defined event "Create Sales Order". This even then launches an ...

Paul,
No dashes, but we do have a few Invoice Numbers with alphabetic characters in them, not sure why, maybe something to do with credit memos and user error.
Your advice in the Blog to make sure that only Method is used, or only QB is used to enter Invoices etc. when auto ref number assignment is turned on sounds very important as I can ...

Anyone tried the Method assignment of ref numbers feature?
In limited testing I'm not getting the Invoice ref number assigned promptly by method, it appears to still wait for QB. I did a full sync just prior to enabling and watched the integration engine on both server and client, but couldn't see anything out of sorts.
I'll ...

When converting an Estimate to a Sales Order a Sales Order screen is opened when the new record is inserted into the Sales Order table.
I can see where the default screen for the table Sales Order is defined, but I cannot find the configuration to determine under which tab the screen is opened. The Sales Order screen is opened under the ...

Michael,
Thanks for all your help, the update did the trick. I'm now on the bleeding edge of QB and Method releases and plan to stay that way.
Cheers,

Hey Michael,
.Net 4 Extended is installed and the 4 Client is installed and all updates have been applied to the machine.
I think maybe rather the problem is that the machine is on the bleeding edge of all updates, rather than behind, but it could be that something didn't take during the build.
QB Enterprise V11 was recently upgraded to R6 ...

Paul,
Thanks for the tips. I found QBFC8 in Add/Remove programs, removed it, and re-installed from your link as suggested but I still get the same message when attempting to install the Sync Engine.
The message comes real quick, I suppose the installer is checking for the QB SDK components.
I'll need some more help, or else I'll ...
