web to lead and duplicate records

    Hi,

We've been using web to lead for a while, so this is not a new issue.  When someone fills out the form, duplicate records are created within Method's Activity List.

One record is catgeory "Web Comment" the other is category "Other", both created at the same time with the same information, but with sequential Activity List numbers. So for each Activity we show one completed (since the internal user reached out to the prospect) and the other Not Started.

Is there a setting that needs to be adjusted to fix this duplication?

    Thank you!

    Hi Gpeak,

The "duplicate records" you are referring to are Activity notifcations that are based off of the Web form linking back to the Opportunity and Activity tables. When your potential customers submits a web form, an Opportunity is created with the Activity type "Web Comment" to indicate/alert how they reached out to you and how you received them as a lead. Secondly, an Activity [yours being the type "Other"] prompts you/r user to contact the lead back.

If you would like to edit the alerts for the Web form, log into your Method account > Customize > Integration Tool > locate the one you have set up > go to step 7 of 9 to edit the Internal Email Alert.

Try this out and should you have more questions or need any assistance, you will find our chat option at the bottom right hand corner (in green) on our website.

    Thank you!
