Method Field Services Update - September 19, 2010

There were a few updates made to Method Field Services today - the scheduling software for QuickBooks, built using the Method Integration platform

  • Bug fix: Time entered in the Field Service Add/Edit Work Order screen ignored the setting for "Wait For Sync Approval?".  This has been fixed.
  • Field Service Add/Edit Work Order's "Time in / Time out" grid is now editable.  This way you can edit start and stop times directly on this screen, rather than having to go to the Time Tracking screen.
  • Field Service Work Order Version 3 (FieldService_WorkOrderV3) - the default work order template is now "FieldService_WorkOrderV3".  This is the same as before, except that the currency format now uses your computer's currency, regardless of which country you are in.  Also, the template adopts your Method color scheme and logo, rather than the default logo and color.
  • Field Service Route List Version 3 (FieldService_RouteListV3) - same changes for currency and style as FieldService_WorkOrderV3 (see above).
  • FieldService_JobSummaryV2, FieldService_EstVsActHrs_ByCustomerV2, FieldService_JobCostProfit_ByCustomerV2 - same changes for currency and style as FieldService_WorkOrderV3 (see above).
  • The scheduling calendar for field service scheduling, work order list, and customer screen for QuickBooks customers were also updated to point to the new report templates.

Note: If you had previously customized FieldService_WorkOrderV2 or FieldService_RouteListV2 directly, instead of copying and renaming your own version, you may find that your template appears "missing" today.  It is not missing - it's just that you need to let Method know that your template overrides the default template.  To do this, go to Field Service Center > Work Order List > Print / Email, and click on Customize Templates to point Method to the template you want to use.  If it is blank the screens will use the default templates, which are now FieldService_WorkOrderV3 and FieldService_RouteListV3.
