  • Method CRM Updates - February 16 - February 27, 2012

The following indicates which accounting application(s) the release note(s) apply to.

    New Document

    • Improved - when uploading a new document through the upload attachment window, the document name will now be automatically filled in provided the “Name” field is blank.  Previously you’d need to fill in the “Name” after uploading your attachment.  This saves you some of the manual work.  You’ll also be taken directly to the “Description” box after the pop-up closes.  (QBD & QBO)

(QBD)

For QuickBooks Online users, the SmartVault documents will only display in SmartVault’s web access portal not in QBO.  Adding integration with QBO is something SmartVault plans to release in the future.

    Edit Opportunity

    • Fixed (#3210) - if an activity was related to an opportunity but did not have a contact assigned, an error message was appearing when attempting to save the activity.  We’ve now updated the actions on the Save, Save & Back and Save & Close to allow for activities to be saved with blank contact names.  Special thanks to Antonio Macedo from CSConsult for finding this.  (QBD & QBO)

  • Method CRM Updates - February 2 - February 3, 2012

    • QBD = QuickBooks Desktop
    • QBO = QuickBooks Online

    New Customer

    • New (#3162) - when creating a new customer you can now make that customer a sub-customer just like you can in QuickBooks Online (“QBO”).  Previously this was not available to developers on the Intuit Partner Platform.  If you’re unsure of what a sub-customer is, hover your mouse over the checkbox to get a helpful tip.  We’ve also followed the same logic as QBO when it comes to pulling information from the parent customer.  This means only if the address fields are totally blank, we’ll import the “bill to” information into the appropriate fields.  Same goes for email, phone, mobile, fax and pager.  Provided they are empty, we’ll pull the parents info over and fill it in for you.  (QBO)

    • Fixed (#2848) - tab ordering was off on the right side of the screen. (QBO)
Wondering if support will be added for sub-customers for the Edit Customer screen?  It sure will!  Look out for this early next week.

    Enjoy,

    Danny
  • Method CRM Updates - January 27 - February 1, 2012

The following indicates which accounting application(s) the release note(s) apply to.

    • QBD = QuickBooks Desktop
    • QBO = QuickBooks Online

    Documents Tab

    • New - a new tab called “Documents” has been added to the “CRM” tab group for all Method accounts which is dedicated to the document library in Method CRM.  Previous to the release of this tab, documents were only accessible (at least easily) by going to the Edit Opportunity, Edit Case and Edit Solution screens.  Now through this tab, documents stored throughout the various screens in Method can be easily visible through the documents list and of course added/edited as needed.  The new tab includes three default tab links for Documents List, New Document and Edit Document.   (QBD & QBO)

    Documents List

    • New - displays all documents stored in the Method document library.  This of course takes advantage of shared lists.  As well, the “New Document” button is taking advantage of the new button styling, soon to be applied to other list screens.  You’ll only be able to see the new button styling on the “stage” site for now.  (QBD & QBO)

    New Document

    • New - allows for the upload of new documents to the document library.  Documents can be uploaded directly into Method using the native upload Method, by providing a URL link (useful if the file is larger than 5MB) or to SmartVault.  This screen will also be used in various CRM and transaction screens throughout Method CRM to upload documents easily to the document library.  (QBD & QBO)

    Edit Document

    • New - allows you to edit details of documents in the document library.  Since documents in Method can linked to more than one transaction, activity, opportunity, etc, you’ll be able to see all the existing links in this screen.  Of course you can create new links from here as well.  (QBD & QBO)

    Edit Opportunity

    • Improved - the “link or upload” button has been replaced with a “Document” button.  From here you can easily upload a new document or link an existing document with less clicks.  This also takes advantage of using the new document screens.  (QBD & QBO)
    • Improved - from the “Contact Information” section, you can click on the headers for “Lead / Customer Info” or “Contact Info” to launch the Edit Lead/Edit Customer or Edit Contact screens.  Previously this needed to be accessed by clicking “More actions...”.  This makes it much quicker to access the same screens.  Less clicks! (QBD & QBO)

    Edit Case

    • Improved - the “link or upload” button has been replaced with a “Document” button.  From here you can easily upload a new document or link an existing document with less clicks.  This also takes advantage of using the new document screens.  (QBD & QBO)
    • Improved - from the “Contact Information” section, you can click on the headers for “Lead / Customer / Vendor / Employee Info” or “Contact Info” to launch the Edit Lead/Edit Customer/Edit Vendor/Edit Employee or Edit Contact screens.  Previously this needed to be accessed by clicking “More actions...”.  This makes it much quicker to access the same screens.  Less clicks! (QBD & QBO)

    Edit Solution

    • Improved - the “link or upload” button has been replaced with a “Document” button.  From here you can easily upload a new document or link an existing document with less clicks.  This also takes advantage of using the new document screens.  (QBD & QBO)
    • Improved - the tab link name now renames automatically to include the solution number and title.  (QBD & QBO)

Next week, look out for screen updates to the Edit Lead and Edit Customer screen which will include a new document tab section.  Exciting!  We’ll also be releasing a blog entry highlighting some of the new features in these screens.

Have feedback?  Let us know!  We’d love to hear from you.

    Cheers,

    Danny Wink
