Call Web Service Action
- The number of parameters allowed on the Call Web Service action has been increased from 5 to 10. Long term, we plan to make this unlimited.
- Due to your feedback that it has been difficult to debug the Call Web Service action, we created a test environment. I think you'll really like this. Just edit the Call Web Service action, click Prepare test environment, then click Go to test environment. You'll be able to test out different parameters, URLs and function, see what the resulting full HTTP POST is that Method generates, plus see the result that the web service call is providing.
Grids
- There was a significant speed improvement on grids. We did a security update about 3 weeks ago that slowed down the rendering of grids. While we haven't removed the security update, we have optimized it to be much faster.

Customer and Contacts List
- Updated - ‘Balance’ column to be a fixed width. (QBD & QBO)
Portal Cases
- Fix - activities that are inserted for an existing Case through the portal will now fill in the “Contacts” field in the Cases table with the logged in user from the portal. Prior to CRM 2.0, there was no such field for ‘Contacts’ so this needed to be updated. We’ve also ensured that the name, email and phone number for the inserted activity are pulled from the logged in portal user. (QBD & QBO)
- Fix - the Case dialog was using the the contact name assigned to the case when appending the name to the activity name and date stamp in the dialog. This has now been changed to use the name of the logged in contact for the portal. (QBD & QBO)
Portal New Case
- Fix - activities that are inserted for a new Case through the portal will now fill in the “Contacts” field in the Cases table with the logged in user from the portal. (QBD & QBO)

Method Field Services updates
- Fix - The Field Service Dashboard screen had links to CRM activities, cases and opportunities. These were pointing to the old version of Method CRM, so they were dead links for new users and users who recently upgraded. A check is now done to see if you are using the new CRM 2.0, and if so, it redirects you to the new CRM tab links. Note: right now the link goes to the CRM tab links, but since the Activities, Opportunties and Cases tabs don't belong in the Field Service Center by default, no tab is shown at the top. This is a known issue we don't yet have a solution for. You can resolve it yourself by adding these tabs to your Field Service Operations tab group.
- Fix - Similar to above, the Field Service Customers screen had links to the old Activities screen, which were broken if you were on the new CRM 2.0.
- Fix - Also related to the same problem described above, the Field Service Post to QB screen had a link to the old version of the Time Tracking screen. It is now pointed to the QuickBooks Time Tracking screen for CRM 2.0 users.

Method Platform updates
- New - 'Method Coach' now sends you notification emails when you complete setup tasks and recommends your next steps. Read more: http://miurl.cc/Coach
- New - Resolve Conflicts now has a Clear link to ignore the conflict, and a Clear All button to ignore all conflicts.
- New - You now have the ability to adjust the alignment of grid columns in the grid wizard.
- New - For QB Online beta testers, a Sync icon has been added to the top-right that let's you initiate a sync.
- New - We have established a "Content Delivery Network" called MethodCDN.com which we are routing javascript and images through. This is geeky stuff, but it causes Method to run slightly faster because your browser can send more requests at the same time.
- Fix - There was a problem with dropdowns in Chrome where in some situations the results of the dropdown would appear hidden, so you would still see "Loading..." even though the results were ready to be click on. Once you moved your mouse over top, the rest of the dropdown appeared. It is actually a Chrome bug, but we found a workaround.
- Fix - There was a problem in Chrome when changing the caption of a grid column in step 2 of the grid wizard. The caption would change, but you'd get an ambiguous error message. This is now resolved.
- Fix - Tab links weren't getting dynamically created for CRM 2.0 tabs. When you create a new screen and assign it to a tab, the tab link should show up automatically. However, with the new CRM 2.0 tabs this wasn't working properly, and would only show up once you signed out and signed back in.
- Fix - There was a bug where editing an existing customer would cause the Contact Name on the associated Contact to go blank. The affected Contact Names have been restored, and the issue is now resolved.
- Fix - A security update caused HTML tags like <b> and <i> to be displayed in the body of some screens, such as the Cases screen, instead of actually rendering the HTML properly. We resolved the issue by adding these tags to our security validation.
Cheers,
Paul
